All your manuscripts, character data, and project files are stored locally on your computer in locations you control. DeepQuill uses your local file system and does not synchronize data to cloud services unless you explicitly configure third-party integrations.

Information collected through update checks and downloads is stored on secure servers. We retain this data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

5.1 AI/LLM Features (Optional)

If you choose to use optional AI features (such as automated character analysis), you may configure API connections to third-party AI providers. When using these features:

DeepQuill includes optional NER models for character recognition. These models run entirely on your local computer and do not transmit your text to external servers.

5.3 Google User Data (Google Drive & Google Docs)

DeepQuill works entirely on your own machine and does not require a Google account. Connecting Google is entirely optional. If you choose to connect your Google account, DeepQuill requests access to Google Drive and/or Google Docs solely to let you import, read, or sync the writing-related files you select (your manuscripts and related documents) so you can work with them in DeepQuill and keep them in sync across your own devices.

DeepQuill's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can use DeepQuill without connecting Google; Google access is required only if you want to work with files stored in Google Drive or Google Docs.
